CASE STUDY

We recently reconnected with one of our customers, in Noosa Heads, who had us install a 6.6kW System in October 2018.  The home owner had quite a need for Solar as her quarterly electricity account was in excess of $900.00!  All due to her business operation from home resulting in high use of Air-Conditioning through the day together with a Hot Water Service providing instant hot water for her busy Dog Grooming business.  All ‘BILL SHOCK’ has well and truly been banished, with her latest electricity account of $94.00 for a Ninety (90) day period, being received.  Kerrie is happy to verify and confirm this by simply giving her a call…

 

Another home owner (also in Noosa Heads), a family of four (4) with a pool and a four (4) bed / four (4) bath house, were receiving electricity accounts around the $500 - $600 mark, opened their most recent AGL Invoice and found it to be $34.00 for the quarter!

SALT Property Services installed at 13.2kW solar system at our house just before Christmas and we just received our first full quarter electrical bill, which was actually a credit of nearly $300, paid into our bank account.  Prior to this we were receiving a $900 bill each quarter.

 

We had procrastinated for 7 years and obtained many quotes and spent many hours on research.  Our only regret is waiting so long.  

 

The system was up and running within a month of first contacting SALT including nearly 3 weeks for Energex to approve the application.  The quality of materials, communication, workmanship and cleanliness by the tradesmen was / is fantastic.

 

Importantly, the quote contained forecasts of our production obviously using data directly relating to our property, the direction of our roof, our previous energy consumption, hours of sunlight, weather conditions in our area, expected production, and how long it would take us to get our money back on the investment which has proved to be spot on. 

 

A smart meter was installed which allows us to monitor in real time exactly how much energy we are consuming, and how much energy we are producing.  We have changed our habits to use most of our power during the day to maximise the benefit, so we've reduced our usage in some ways, but allows us to use air-conditioning at will for free during the day whilst running the house including pool pump, 2 fridges, dishwasher, mashing machine, fans and a big house.

 

The price was mid-range compared to others and we estimate the system will pay for itself within 3 years, so if you're planning to stay where you are for anything longer than that you'd be mad not to do it.  Even during recent cloudy days, due to the size of the system we were still running the house for free.
